According to Shiv Mahapuran, Batuk Bhairav and Bal Bhairav is the child form of Kaal Bhairav.

This form of Lord Bhairav is considered as satvik, beautiful and humble. It is believed that by worshipping Lord Bhairav in this form, devotees attains all kinds of happiness and prosperity. According to beliefs, there is a special significance to chant Bhairav Mantra in front of Lord Batuk Bhairav. By doing so devotees can attain blessings of Lord Bhairav immediately and their desires are fulfilled.

Best time for puja

Devotees can worship Lord Batuk Bhairav any time according to their will. This temple is famous for three types of Shringar which are performed annually. First Shringar is done on the second Tuesday of Sawan.

Second is done on Haryali Jalvihar Varshik Shringar which is organized every year on the Sunday between August 27 to September 3.

Third Shringar is done on the occasion of Bhairav Ashtami. This day is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Batuk Bhairav in which 56 bhogs are being offered to the Lord. 1008 Batukas (Brahmin children) are invited for the Bhoj in the temple and Satvic meal is prepared for around 8 to 10 thousand people on this particular day.
