Kashi is a place in India where the replicas of Dwadash Jyotirlingas are located. Dwadasa means twelve and Jyotirlinga are the places where Mahadev has manifested himself. There are 12 Jyotirlingas in Kashi. It is believed that Lord Shiva gave a glimpse on these 12 Jyotirlingas of Kashi so that the devotees who are unable to visit different regions in India for dwadashjyotirlinga yatra can come to kashi for darshan and gets the same punyafal. Here, Lord Shiva was established with the hands of Swayambhu and Lord Ganesh in the form of 12 Jyotirlingas. Baba Vishwanath is one of the Dwashash Jyotirlingas, and the replicas of other original Jyotirlingas are also located here in Varanasi.
